River Road Respite is proud to offer dedicated one-on-one support sessions every Monday and Friday evening. These individualized experiences are designed to help each person grow, learn new skills, and receive personalized guidance in a comfortable, supportive environment. Every session is tailored to the person’s goals, needs, and interests.
Job coaching & skill building
Hands-on support with resume readiness, job searching, interview practice, workplace expectations, and building confidence for employment. Perfect for anyone preparing to step into the workforce or wanting structured skill development.
Cooking lessons & meal prep assistance
Learn to cook simple, healthy meals step-by-step. Together, we explore kitchen safety, meal planning, hands-on cooking, and preparing meals for the week—building independence one bite at a time.

Coffee & Community Tuesdays
A warm space to connect, chat, and enjoy the simple moments together.
Every Tuesday, join us for Coffee & Community, a relaxed social morning designed to bring people together in a welcoming, comfortable environment. This weekly gathering is all about good company, meaningful conversations, and creating friendships that last.
Participants can enjoy a cozy cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate while taking part in light activities like conversation games, music, casual crafts, and guided social interactions. Our staff are there to help everyone feel included, supported, and engaged—perfect for individuals who benefit from structured social time in a calm setting.

DARTS NIGHT: “Aim for the Fun!”
Join us for a relaxed and social evening of darts—perfect for beginners and seasoned players alike. Participants will enjoy friendly matches, simple skill challenges, and loads of laughs as we aim for bullseyes together. Our staff support everyone at their own pace, making it a low-pressure, high-fun evening. Whether you’re competitive or just want to hang out, Darts Night is the perfect midweek boost!
BOWLING NIGHT: “Strike Up Some Fun!”
Get ready to roll! Bowling Night brings the group together for a lively outing full of cheering, high-fives, and good vibes. We bowl at a local Peterborough alley with easy-access lanes, bumpers if needed, and a fun, upbeat atmosphere. Participants can enjoy friendly competition, snacks, and lots of support from staff. It’s the perfect combination of movement, socializing, and midweek excitement.
AXE THROWING NIGHT: “Axe-citing Midweek Challenge!”
Experience something new in a safe, supervised, and confidence-building environment! Axe Throwing Night offers participants the chance to try a unique and empowering activity at a local facility with trained staff. We focus on safety, technique, and celebrating each small success. It’s a great way to build confidence, try something bold, and share a ton of laughs—no experience needed.
